INSPIRE Pillar Talk with Ruth Mitchell

The WiNE Network are thrilled to have the incredible Dr Ruth Mitchell as our Pillar Talk guest!

Dr Ruth Mitchell is a neurosurgeon-scientist with a keen interest in paediatric neurosurgery and brain tumour biology. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne Department of Surgery and Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, investigating the structure of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in high grade brain tumours. She holds a grant from the Brain Foundation.

Ruth previously chaired the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Trainees’ Association through a period of unprecedented introspection and change in the surgical profession and is the 2019 John Corboy medallist. She is passionate about diversity, inclusion, and full participation of women and other underrepresented communities in surgery and in science, and dreams of a day both professions are as diverse as the communities they serve.
