Background
The Mansfield Shire Cybersafety Project is a partnership in its early stages.
A dedicated working group made up of volunteers from various sectors within the local community has been created.
The working group is currently in the process of establishing a partnership with the University of Melbourne to assist in planning and evaluating this important, shire-wide initiative.
So far donations have been secured from Mansfield Shire Council and Margie and Will Twycross.
This funding will enable expert cybersafety educator Susan McLean to visit Mansfield in mid-2025. Susan will deliver presentations to all local primary and secondary schools, as well as sporting and community groups.

Initiatives being explored:
-
Creation of an app to help community members report cyberbullying incidents and access support services.
-
Employing a project officer for a two-year period to assist with the implementation and expansion of the project.
-
A social media page will be launched to further engage the community and keep them informed about progress.
