About Me

My passion for career counselling is the culmination of work and life experiences that supports and adds depth to my professional practice.

My first career as a librarian provided the skulls to support and guide others to understand how to undertake research and find their answers. I then moved out of the city to a small community that was also a popular tourist destination and took on the management of the Neighbourhood House and Adult Learning centre. Here I learnt humility and how important empathy was. This is also where I learnt the power of supporting others to be their best selves and developed an understanding of unconditional positive regard for those who sort support.

Across my major careers, I also worked as a trainer and tutor, which provided a depth and breadth of understanding of the importance of education for self and professional development and allowed me to teach others and support those considering returning to study confidently.

My move from sea to tree change brought challenges, both great and confronting, and a personal depth of understanding of job searching, remote study and changing career direction.

To date, life has provided the opportunity to build a diverse range of skills that I use both in my professional journey and when assisting others to identify and highlight their complementary and transferable skills.
