About the Event
In support of International Women's Day 2023, the team at the WiNE Network are proudly hosting a Luncheon event at the Ranges Restaurant, Mansfield Golf Club. This year's theme is 'Embrace Equity' and we are thrilled to have Activist and Author Judy Ryan (OAM) leading a panel of inspirational women.
ABOUT JUDY
A city girl with a country heart! Judy Ryan spent her childhood in Wangaratta, moving to Wodonga to raise a family. When she hit the big smoke in Abbotsford Melbourne, she was confronted with the heroin epidemic. In 2016, with a young man slumped at her doorstep, 'something broke'. Judy was compelled by her time spent in the country, “Imagine what they’d do in Wang [Wangaratta] if someone’s child collapsed in the street.”
After decades of inaction, this led Judy to mobilise the community, positioning the heroin dilemma as a public health crisis, with an ambitious campaign that…
